Hello Island Co-op families my name is Katherine (Katie) Tobias. I am eager and excited about the 2010-2011 school year at the Co-op. I will be the teacher for the 3 & 4 year old preschool class
along with the extended enrichment program. This year will be my first year at Island Preschool Co-op.
I am looking forward to getting to know the parents and their children, sharing ideas and working together to guide the children
developmentally in preparation for Kindergarten.
Since 3 & 4 year olds are know for telling everything about themselves and their families, I will tell you a little about me.
I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.
I was raised in Brownstown and attended Creative Montessori Center K-8 and Gabriel Richard H.S. Since being married in 2007 my husband and I have
lived in North Carolina. We moved back to Michigan at the end of July to be closer to home and to spend more time with family and friends.
I do not have any children of my own but we have a golden retriever named “PJ” who has the personality of one.
I enjoy spending my spare time working out, scrap booking, playing tennis, snowboarding, skiing and spending time on the water.
Good communication is the key to any good relationship between parents, students and teachers.
I am available to discuss your questions, concerns and suggestions. This year will be a learning experience for all of us
